Hi! I'm Tanya
I'm the Founder of
I'm A Survivor Campaign & Urban Chic Salon
One of the scariest things to hear from a doctor must be the words, “You have cancer.”
Those words are heartrending, and every minute, hour and day that follows is just as difficult.
For someone diagnosed with cancer, each day they are burdened with countless pains and issues and every little smile, kind-hearted gesture goes a far way.
With the struggle of every single one of these individuals in mind, I have joined forces with fashion designer, Simone McGowan of Marlene Simone Ja, to work on the I’m A Survivor project.
The project which began early last year has several components designed in an effort to provide encouragement, lend financial and emotional support to a few of the millions of persons battling the disease.

What We Do
Since early 2019, at my own expense, have been donating cash, wigs, head wraps, food items and back-to-school items to several persons who are affected by the disease.
With the introduction of the campaign, the support will now only increase, as the generated funds will be used to assist some patients financially with their treatment, medication and everyday needs.
Join me in this effort, every minute or dollar you donate to this cause can make a huge difference. Cancer can affect any of us.
The Event
Starting October 2020, the I'm A Survivor show which will be staged in Kingston, Jamaica, will deliver motivational speeches, provide consultations and entertainment through world class performers, a fashion and hair show involving cancer patients battling the disease.
This is all contingent on the current COVID-19 pandemic being brought under control enough to stage this even. In any case this set-back just serves to emphasize how important it is that we get the support of individuals like you in this endeavor.
